So it's winter break now, and I've been chilling around baking way too many yummy things just because I can. Then I stumbled across a veeeeeery old (and by old I mean truly ancient) manga colouring I did several years ago. I cringed inside and got to thinking: I wonder if I've improved at all ~~in spite of not colouring a thing~~ since then...
To put it mildly, I was pleasantly surprised. I'm still very rough ~~(what are backgrounds? what are clothes? who needs hair?)~~ and I work ridiculously slowly, but I'm happy with the final image for now. :P

I'm leaving for college in less than two weeks (eeeeeek!) but I've signed up for two Big Bangs nonetheless.

bigbang_mixup was too hard to resist. I've only just signed up but I've already finished one mix and begun another.

teenwolfbbang is also going swimmingly, but at a much more sedated pace because I write like a snail crawling through cheesecake. Very slowly indeed. I wish that I could reveal more, but you'll just have to wait until posting time rolls around to find out!

I probably won't update too often (like I do anyway, haha, sorry) until I'm all settled in at my dorm, the one farthest from just about everything on campus. But feel free to pester me with college questions anyway. :D

Post Script -- I've failed spectacularly at learning to screenprint t-shirts this summer. I've also failed at doing the summer reading (ECONOMICS, OKAY. DNW.), maintaining a sparkly-clean room, and figuring out how to bake french silk mini-tarts. That last one will have to be remedied immediately. Or at least before I go visit my BFF at her dorm.

That icon? It's basically what my expression is like right now (don't be fooled by the "energetic" mood, it's sort of lying to you!).

I'm being dragged in so many different directions by a ridiculous amount of ideas that I can't even settle down to work on one. I just feel like flailing all over the place, giddy with shiny new fandoms and weird but enthralling ~~addictive~~ AUs oh gosh so many AUs...
So I'm turning to you, flist (and any random journal stalkers). Be as encouraging or stern as you like in the face of this, this complete craziness. :D

I have so many snippets lying around that it would be virtually impossible to even remember all that I have started, let alone get them somewhat organized. Instead, I'll just list out a couple of ideas that are squabbling for my attention. If you have favourites, don't be a teacher. POINT THEM OUTTTTTT... Of course, if you can't decide, go ahead and ask for elaboration or more snippets or whatever you please. Squee, prompt, scold, you know how it goes.

It's been a couple of days already, but it already feels quite strange to no longer be attending high school (gosh I feel so young). I'm still avoiding setting up for college, although I should probably get to worrying about it. Maybe in a month or so...

But anyway, the past four years have been a lot of fun despite being over-the-top hectic at times. I'm glad that the early start of summer has given me the opportunity to catch up with all of my old friends, and I'm looking forward to doing so for the rest of our time together, too. I wasn't expecting to have quite so much time to myself, but I've been enjoying it -- biking, bowling, sketching, colouring, reading, and laughing at life in general has been taking up my time.

I haven't meant to be so sporadic in my comments and squees with everyone, so I'm sorry for that. I'm always saying "it's been a while" every time I post, and I hope not to do that again this summer. If I can, I may try to post much more than I usually do, because there will likely be a bit of dead silence at the start of college.

With that all in mind, let's catch up!

I’m useless when it comes to resisting temptation (okay, that’s been established pretty well by now), and the idea behind this particular fanmix struck me pretty hard. There have already been plenty of mixes focusing on the history between these two, but I wanted to take that whole concept, rip it apart, and put it back together as something entirely different. In doing so, I decided to run with the somewhat-popular notion that either or both of these men are ex-military (which was actually still pretty original back months ago when I first started, haha)—but on opposite sides. This is the result.

Initially, I had planned for this to be dark and compact, but as you can see, it didn’t quite turn out that way. The concept behind it evolved as I went along, and the music reflects that. Since I doubt that I'll ever get around to writing it, I'll disclose the original storyline I had for this:

Arthur and Eames are acquainted as agents currently cooperating internationally. Then Eames winds up being an operative who went rogue after a job gone wrong (who conned his way back inside and managed to charm Arthur before taking off with classified information [a PASIV actually]). It turns out that Arthur is assigned the task of tracking him down in order to silence him. This ultimately leads to Arthur leaving the military.

Finally, finally, finally finished up the art for the fanmix that's been done for the past several months.

Yes, I sure did take my own sweet time, haha. Long story short, I was looking for appropriate pictures (which somehow required the watching of several movies and an entire miniseries) to use in the covers -- and, funny, I didn't even wind up using any of those in the end. Alas. Oh well, I'm in the process of prepping for the upload and formatting and whatnot, but I doubt that it will be up tonight.
Most likely sometime tomorrow evening, then.

Just a little something to look forward to, if that's how you roll. :)
