There are six of them (Preludes - March - Aubade - Serenades - Nocturne - Requiem) and I've been writing it since 2002. I've had ideas since 1999, but it was vastly different. I wrote an explanation somewhere and I'll dig it up if you want it.
Sure. I took a gander at the very first bit, and there were a whole lot of alternate terms and the like. Is it something that takes place in the future, or a book that's set in an entirely different world?
Most are probably jut my semi-nonfunctioning brain tiredly chugging along right now. "Djellaba" took a glance and a dictionary. Mostly it'd be about the government system or a brief history, and maybe even the layout of the countries/cities to better grasp the interrelationships between them. I suppose some of the acronyms will play out later. I like a lot of the unusual imagery, though. :)
I drew a map once. I'll see if I can find and relabel it. Also, the narrator assumes the reader already has knowledge of the last 5000 years of history and the current state of international relationships.
Yeah, I know. I put infodumps in and deleted them all eventually.
I'm sort of in a blissful mood after I found out that My Little Airport suddenly became popular by Chinese twee pop standards and there's a Batman musical (!?) but Summer_Ceres doesn't have the complete thing. Blast! Oh, well, at least I have an excuse to confiscate any planet destroying rays that Spatula built.
Well, I did some research and the reason she doesn't have the complete thing is because the musical was canceled some time in production and there is no complete thing. Maybe Bollywood will make something.
Indeed, six years is quite some time. <3 If I ever do get around to finishing anything up... it probably would take just as long to be satisfied with it, haha. Do you still like your novel? Has it changed from what you thought it would be initially? Or did you kind of just start out writing and form a plot later? Are you thinking about sending it to a publisher?
Lol, sorry for the twenty-bekajillion questions. xP
It's changed a lot. I actually formed a plot before I formed the characters. I like the characters a lot. The plot has a few faults that would require a major overhaul to fix, but I can deal with it.
Yes, I'm going to try to get it published when it's done. June 2010 is my goal.
Whoo, late reply. I've been quite pressed for time lately (busy week!), but keep reminding me, and I'll be sure to read more. It has a certain aura of intrigue about it... :3

Date: 2008-11-14 03:56 am (UTC)What made you decide to write a novel in the first place? For me, I guess I'd been wanting to for quite some time. I love writing.
Mm, best of luck~!
