Seriously, the answer to the poll is "it depends on what the story needs". I'm never one for gratuitous sex scenes. Also, sometimes not-tasteful is the way to go. It all depends on the characters.

I don't care about holiday-themed fics either way. Either they're good, or they aren't.

When necessary, if done well. Too explicit and it's derotic. I've written one myself, amongst conversations of food and rollerskating in the snow, espionage and pigeon-threatening.

As for the other question, I don't. I like descriptions of winter.
